Coloring Tips

•

First get a good sized sketch book

•

Colour lightly

•

Pressing hard will create indentations in the sketch book and the colours will soon seep through the page

•

When colouring, stroke in one direction, away from the body to get a good colored picture. Colours are broadly divided into warm colours and cool colours

•

Examples of warm colours are red, orange, and yellow. Examples of cool colours are green, blue and purple

•

To get a good picture, you must use both warm and cool colours

•

Do not mix colours

•

While colouring, colour from top down or from left to right

•

When colouring, always remember to draw the outline or boundary first

•

Use a fine tip colour pen to get a clear outline

•

After drawing the outline, the colours can be filled in

•

Use a chisel tip for quick colouring and best results

•

Your colouring will become better and better, as you keep doing more and more colour sketches

•

Remember, practice makes you perfect!
